Meeting Estelle

“Do you mind if I take that food?” Was the first words I ever said to Grammy award winner Estelle and her band. One of my moms friends was hosting a campaign for her non-profit. For entertainment she had Estelle come in to perform. Things started off not great, we had a bunch of technical difficulties so the bands instruments and the microphone weren’t working. Once we got that started things went a little better. Right before the performance ended I went out to go hang out with the valet workers, during parties my 11 year old self loved to hang out with valet people. They informed me that they were hungry and they were wondering if I could get them some food and I was like sure why not. So I go over to our house but the cater people wouldn’t let me take food for the valet people. So i went over to where the Estelle and the band were staying. I go in and I spot a basket full of candy and snacks, and I immediately think that that’s what I need for the valet people, let me tell you this was no small company of valet people it was like 14 people. It was quite a large party. As I go to grab the basket of snacks, I notice that there are two cater people in the area. I know one of them, she always comes whenever we have a party, she gives me and my brothers strawberries whenever she comes, hence her name strawberry lady. The other one though I did not know, I didn’t think that they would care if I took it. I went to go grab and as I’m walking out the cater person that I don’t know yells at me to put it back. The Strawberry Lady tells me that I can take it and that’s all I need and I bolt out. I make it back to the valet area, and give them the snacks, they thank me and I go back to the party, later after the performance I go back to valet people and they tell me that they are hungary again so I went back to where the band and Estelle were staying to go grab more food, I didn't think much of it but when I opened the door and Estelle and her band where in there just chillin’ I’m in like shock like oh shoot I just walked in on them, but one of the band members was like “Wassup.” and I was like ok maybe its ok if I chill in here for a second. Estelle said hi and I just wasn't thinking and said “Do you mind if I take that food?” At that moment I was like oh shoot, I just asked a grammy award winner if I could have the food that we gave her. But she was chill and was said that I could. After that I stayed and talked with her and her band for a little while. I talked about football with her band and other things. Once I had to go I asked for a picture with her and she said yes. I didn’t have my phone on me so we took it on her phone. She said that she would send it to me and I was thinking in my head. Yo thats so cool I’ll have Estelles number and I will have a cool picture. After we had taken the picture she asked for my number so she could send it to me. At that time I had just gotten my phone number so I didn’t fully remember it, but I thought I did so i gave her a number, the wrong number. I messed up a 4 and 6 in the wrong place. When I got back inside my house I went up to my room to grab my phone and when the picture wasn't texted to me I realized I had given her the wrong phone number. By that time her and her band had left so I was left there with no picture and no phone number.
